Role Overview

DavinWorks, Inc. is a commercial construction workforce staffing company headquartered in Miami, with field operations across South Florida, Central Florida, Indiana, and Alabama. We place skilled tradespeople in drywall, concrete, and carpentry, with a growing electrical and MEP division, on commercial and federal projects. In a typical week we field roughly 200+ trade workers supported by a 15-person internal team.

The Chief Operating Officer runs the day-to-day business. You report to the CEO and own operations end to end: field deployment, recruiting and workforce, safety, HR, and back-office execution across every market. You turn strategy into a repeatable operating system, and you are accountable for the numbers that prove it works. This is a builder’s seat. We are professionalizing how we run, and the COO sets the standard.

What You Will Own

Operations and delivery

•     Direct daily operations across all markets and trade divisions, holding leaders accountable to clear targets.

•     Own the operating cadence: weekly leadership meetings, KPI review, and the GDP rhythm (Get Work, Do Work, Get Paid).

•     Translate the CEO’s growth plan into staffing, deployment, and capacity decisions.

•     Build and maintain SOPs so the business runs the same way on a good week and a hard one.

Workforce and retention

•     Treat field workforce retention as a primary measure of operational health, and drive it.

•     Partner with recruiting to build a deployable bench, not a name list, screened against trade skill and work-authorization criteria.

•     Improve time-to-deploy, fill rate, and the worker lifecycle from sourcing through redeployment.

Safety and compliance

•     Champion the safety promise and own jobsite safety standards, incident response, and the safety function.

•     Own federal and prevailing-wage compliance, including E-Verify, Davis-Bacon, and certified payroll discipline.

People and culture

•     Lead, coach, and build the internal leadership team and the management depth a growing multi-state operation needs.

•     Carry the FSIEAS values into daily decisions and hold the team to them.

Systems, data, and finance partnership

•     Run the business on dashboards and weekly KPIs by person and department.

•     Partner with the controller and fractional CFO on margin, billing, and cash discipline.

•     Champion the company’s operating platforms and keep systems and data clean and company-owned.

First-Year Priorities

•     1. Take full ownership of the weekly operating cadence and KPI reporting.

•     2. Move a defined field-retention metric measurably in the right direction.

•     3. Bring federal and prevailing-wage compliance to a repeatable standard across projects.

•     4. Build the leadership bench so the operation does not depend on any single person.

What You Bring

Required

•     7+ years in operations leadership, with time in staffing, construction, field services, or another labor-intensive, multi-site business.

•     A track record running a distributed hourly or craft workforce at scale (100+ field workers).

•     Financial fluency: you read a P&L, manage to margin, and connect daily decisions to it.

•     A systems builder who has stood up process, documentation, and cadence where little existed.

•     Bilingual English and Spanish, strongly preferred given our field workforce.

•     Comfort leading with data and adopting technology and automation in operations.

•     Willingness to travel to active markets as the work requires.

Strong pluses

•     Federal contracting experience: Davis-Bacon, prevailing wage, certified payroll, E-Verify.

•     Experience with EOS, Traction, or a similar operating system.

•     Construction or skilled-trades industry background.

•     Experience preparing a company for institutional growth, investment, or ownership transition.
