NY FREELANCE STUDIO & EVENT SUPPORT — HEAVY LIFTING REQUIRED

The Plant Library is looking for reliable, physically capable freelancers to support our Industry City studio and onsite events across Manhattan and Brooklyn. This role covers studio work (potting, planting, prepping and painting containers) and physical event labor — and the event side is not light work. You'll be lifting, carrying, and maneuvering potted plants that weigh 50+ lbs, often up stairs, through tight doorways, or across uneven event spaces, as part of fast-paced setups and teardowns. Responsibilities Studio work: potting, planting, and painting containers to prep plants for rental Loading/unloading plants and equipment from vans or trucks Onsite setup and teardown for events in Manhattan and Brooklyn, sometimes on tight timelines and outside standard business hours Lifting, carrying, and maneuvering potted plants weighing 50+ lbs (some significantly heavier) Repositioning and styling plants onsite per design direction Working as part of a team to move heavy items safely and efficiently We need people who can: Comfortably and repeatedly lift 50+ lbs Stand, bend, and carry for extended periods Work outdoors and in varying weather when events call for it Follow direction precisely and work well under time pressure during events Show up on time and communicate reliably about availability Experience driving 16–20' box trucks or sprinter vans is a plus, but not required Studio experience with plants is a plus, but this role is as much about physical stamina and reliability as it is about plant knowledge — people with a background in moving, events/production, or warehouse work tend to do well here. #J-18808-Ljbffr The Plant Library
