Job Description
Support students’ academic and personal development in a dynamic educational setting as a paraprofessional. This contract opportunity places you in a vital role assisting teachers and helping students achieve their goals in the classroom. You’ll collaborate with educators, provide individual or small-group support, and contribute to a positive learning environment.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Previous experience working with children or in an educational setting preferred
- Ability to communicate effectively and build rapport with students of diverse backgrounds
- Flexibility and adaptability within a classroom environment
- Strong organizational and time-management skills
- High school diploma or equivalent required; additional coursework in education or related field a plus
Responsibilities:
- Assist classroom teachers with instructional activities and behavior management
- Work one-on-one or with small groups to provide academic or behavioral support
- Aid students with special needs, adapting materials and implementing strategies as directed
- Help with recordkeeping, classroom organization, and preparations
- Promote a safe, inclusive, and encouraging learning environment for all students
- Supervise students during non-classroom activities such as recess, lunch, and transitions
- Communicate effectively with staff and parents as appropriate
