Our lab uses C. elegans and mammalian cell culture models to investigate the molecular basis of rare neurodevelopmental disorders and the roles of primary cilia in neuronal development. We are looking for a motivated and creative scientist to lead projects that combine biochemistry, molecular genetics, and cell signaling with a particular emphasis on phosphorylation-dependent regulation of protein function.JOB DESCRIPTIONMAIN RESPONSIBILITIES:lead a research project, report progress, and define/track project deliverablesanalyze research data using appropriate statistics and software toolsprepare research findings for publication in peer-reviewed journalspresent at conferences and scientific meetingsorganize and maintain accurate records of research data, protocols, and reagents generated in the course of the projectQUALIFICATIONS:PhD in Molecular/Cell/Developmental Biology, Neuroscience, Biochemistry or a related fieldStrong background in protein purification and biochemical assaysStrong organizational and communication skillsExperience working with C. elegans is preferred but not requiredBioinformatics skills are strongly preferredThe successful candidate would be able to independently lead a research projectTO APPLY:Please include a cover letter, CV, and contact information of 2-3 references with your applicationCOMPENSATION:Salary: $61,000 depending on experience.FLSA STATUSUnited States of America (Exempt)WPI is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
