Music Therapist (MT-BC)

The Music Therapy program at The Brooklyn Conservatory of Music seeks experienced, credentialed Music Therapists to join our team of 20 music therapists as we open a new Music Therapy Institute in Park Slope, Brooklyn. BKCM Music Therapy’s Community Music Therapy program offers individual and group music therapy throughout Brooklyn, Queens, Manhattan, and The Bronx. We are a culturally responsive music therapy program seeking humanistic, client-centered music therapists with high degrees of musical skill, professionalism, and the desire to work in underserved communities. We offer paid peer supervision, student supervision training and support, professional development and CEs, and performance opportunities for clinicians and clients. Position Summary We are seeking board-certified music therapists (MT-BC’s) who have at least two years of clinical experience. We have a number of open positions both in our onsite and outreach programs. Hours range from 10 to 30 hours per week. Pay Range: $71 to $87 per hour LCAT supervision and health insurance eligible at 20 hours per week Free or discounted CE’s Performance opportunities Timeline: Interviewing immediately through August with start date of September/October. Positions will run with the school year (Sept/Oct through June). Breaks follow the school calendar. Some positions may continue through the summer months. Requirements: Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Music Therapy; Master’s Degree preferred Music Therapy Board Certification (MT-BC). Strong music skills, independence, and flexibility. Commitment to professional development Strong oral and written communication skills. Passion for equity and accessibility. 2 years of clinical experience. High musical proficiency on guitar, voice, and piano Group music therapy work experience.
