This position handles events of low to average complexity and manages the client relationship. The Event Services Specialist looks for opportunities to maximize revenue by upselling and offering enhancements to create outstanding events./ppPosition Requirements/pulliProfessional demeanor appropriate for a resort environment./lili2-4 years experience in event management at a resort property preferred./liliKnowledge of Delphi and Cvent preferred./liliProven organizational, interpersonal and communication skills./liliKnowledge of catering and events market./liliKnowledge of principles and processes for providing customer and personal services to include customer needs assessment, meeting quality standards for services, and evaluation of customer satisfaction./li/ulpResponsibilities/pulliEnsure that events progress is seamless by following established procedures and collaborating with other associates and ensuring accuracy./liliUnderstands expectations and parameters for event activities./liliManages and communicates event details both verbally and in writing to the customer and hotel operations./liliMakes presence always known to customer during the process./liliResponds to and handles client/guest opportunities with proper escalations./liliParticipates in various meetings as necessary (Banquet Event Order meeting, Resume meeting, etc.)./liliInteracts with guests to obtain feedback on product quality and service levels./liliAdheres to all standards, policies, and procedures./liliSets high standards of performance for self and others; assumes responsibility and accountability for successfully completing assignments or tasks./liliPerforms other duties as assigned to meet business needs or special projects in event management./li/ulpEducation/pulliHigh School diploma or GED; minimal experience in event management or related professional area./lili2-year degree from an accredited university in Hotel and Restaurant Management, Hospitality, Business Administration, or related major; no work experience required./li/ulpSkills and Abilities/pulliEffectively adjust to major changes in work tasks or environment./liliClearly convey information and ideas./liliDevelop and sustain productive customer relationships; actively seeking information to understand and address customers needs./liliDevelop creative ideas about products and services./liliAble to use basic computer hardware and software./li/ulpPhysical Requirements/pulliAble to work in a fast-paced environment./liliOn a continuous basis, sit at a desk in front of a computer screen; intermittently twist to reach to reach equipment or supplies surrounding desk; perform simple grasping and fine manipulation; use telephone and computer keyboard on a daily basis./liliPhysically fit in order to lift, pull and push items up to 50 pounds./liliRequires standing/walking/reaching and bending throughout shift./li/ul/div
