Bachelor's or Master's degree in Special Education, active Special Education Teacher license and minimum 1+ years Special Education Teacher experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.

Seeking a dedicated Special Education Teacher for a rewarding contract opportunity supporting elementary students in an inclusive classroom setting nearby Chickamauga, GA. This full-time school-year position runs from late July through late May (including pre-planning), providing invaluable guidance and instruction to a small caseload of 8-10 students.

You’ll work primarily with first and second graders, and may serve some kindergarteners, delivering specialized support for learners with a range of exceptionalities including autism, significant developmental delays, speech/language difficulties, self-regulation challenges, and learning disabilities. As a key team member, you’ll collaborate with general educators and related service professionals to design and deliver effective strategies that foster growth and independence.

What we’re looking for:

• Valid GaPSC Teaching license with P-12 Special Education endorsement
• Dyslexia endorsement required
• Experience with inclusive classrooms and supporting young learners with diverse needs
• Familiarity with creating and implementing IEPs
• Strong communication and collaboration skills
• Compassionate, patient, and energetic approach to teaching
• Understanding of positive behavior supports and progress monitoring

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide specialized instruction and support within the inclusive classroom model
• Work closely with general education teachers and support staff
• Develop, implement, and monitor IEP goals and accommodations
• Support students’ academic and social-emotional growth
• Supervise and assist with toileting for one student working on self-care goals (no diapering required)
• Maintain detailed records of student progress
