Position Overview

A well-established aerospace manufacturer in the Wichita area is conducting a confidential search for a General Manager. This is a senior leadership opportunity for an experienced operator who can drive business performance, lead cross-functional teams, and execute on growth strategy in a precision manufacturing environment. The right candidate brings a strong track record in aerospace or defense manufacturing and is ready to own full P&L responsibility.

Key Responsibilities

Provide overall leadership and strategic direction for all plant and business operations.
Own full P&L accountability, including budgeting, forecasting, and financial performance.
Lead, develop, and retain a high-performing team across operations, quality, engineering, and support functions.
Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance efficiency, quality, and on-time delivery.
Ensure compliance with aerospace industry standards, customer requirements, and regulatory obligations.
Build and maintain strong customer relationships; serve as a senior point of contact for key accounts.
Develop and execute operational strategies aligned with company growth objectives.
Foster a culture of accountability, safety, and operational excellence.

Required Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Business, or a related field; MBA or advanced degree preferred.
7+ years of progressive leadership experience in aerospace, defense, or precision manufacturing.
Demonstrated P&L ownership and financial acumen.
Strong knowledge of aerospace quality standards (AS9100, FAA, NADCAP, or similar).
Proven ability to lead and develop teams in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
Experience with lean manufacturing, continuous improvement, and operational excellence methodologies.
Excellent communication, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills.
