Assistant Nurse Manager - Operating Room

Role Overview This position is for an Assistant Nurse Manager in a high-volume, Level One Trauma Center specializing in cardiac and complex surgical care. The role involves overseeing patient care, staff management, and departmental operations in a fast-paced environment. Key Responsibilities Manage staff scheduling, hiring, training, coaching, disciplinary actions, and performance evaluations. Lead a team of approximately 30 direct reports, ensuring productivity and alignment with departmental goals. Develop and implement staffing plans, support budget adherence, and respond to operational changes. Coordinate patient care, ensuring interventions meet age and developmental needs, and document according to policy. Lead communication efforts, conduct performance reviews, and support staff professional development. Ensure compliance with safety standards, including working in a safety-sensitive environment. Qualifications & Skills Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing required. RN license essential. 2-5 years of relevant experience; supervisory experience preferred, with 5-10 years of experience beneficial. Leadership skills in staff management, performance evaluation, and workflow coordination. Additional Information Experience in perioperative or cardiac services is advantageous.
