Senior Property Accountant

We are seeking an experienced, detail-oriented Senior Property Accountant to join our growing real estate accounting team. This role will oversee accounting activities for a portfolio of commercial and/or residential properties, ensure timely and accurate financial reporting, and partner closely with property management and operations teams. What You'll D oManage the full-cycle accounting for an assigned portfolio of properties

• Prepare and review monthly financial statements, including income statements, balance sheets, cash flow reports, and variance analyses
• Complete monthly, quarterly, and year-end close procedures accurately and on schedule
• Prepare and post journal entries; perform account, bank, and balance-sheet reconciliations
• Review accounts payable, accounts receivable, tenant billing, cash receipts, and security-deposit activity
• Assist with annual budgets, forecasts, CAM reconciliations, and operating expense analyses
• Support property acquisitions, dispositions, refinancing, and due diligence as needed
• Coordinate with external auditors, tax advisors, lenders, and internal stakeholders
• Identify opportunities to strengthen processes, controls, and reporting
• Mentor junior accounting team members and serve as a resource for property accounting questions

What You'll Bri ngBachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related fiel d.5+ years of progressive property accounting experience; commercial real estate experience is strongly preferre d.Strong knowledge of GAAP and financial statement preparatio n.Experience with property-management/accounting software such as Yardi, MRI, RealPage, or simila r.Advanced Excel skills and comfort working with large dataset s.Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skill s.Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet recurring deadlines in a fast-paced environmen t.Clear, professional communication skills and a collaborative working styl e.CPA or CPA-track status is a plu s.
