Desktop Support Technician

Position Overview We are seeking a Desktop Support Technician for our North American Headquarters in Glen Allen, Virginia. The role supports local and remote users across our internal computing environment, ensuring smooth daily operations for employees at every level, from senior leadership to junior staff. The IT department is a highly tenured, collaborative team known for being a genuinely great group of people. Employment Details Full‑time, Hybrid (10 remote days per month) based in Richmond, VA (Contract to Hire). Pay range: $22.00–$24.00/hr. Employment authorization sponsorship is not available for this role. Key Responsibilities Desktop & Laptop Support – Resolve routine and complex issues involving hardware, software, operating systems, and peripherals. Equipment Installation – Install, configure, and deploy computers, applications, and user equipment. Multi‑Channel Support – Assist users via phone, email, in‑person support, and remote access tools. Peripheral Troubleshooting – Maintain printers, copiers, and basic network connectivity. Inventory Management – Maintain accurate hardware records and support lifecycle activities. User Training – Provide guidance on systems, applications, and standard support procedures. High‑Reliability Frontline Support – As one of two front‑desk support professionals, reliability and consistent attendance are essential. Required Qualifications Technical Experience – 1‑3 years supporting computer hardware, software, and operating systems. Microsoft 365 Expertise – Strong knowledge of Microsoft 365, Office 365, Windows OS, and common peripherals. End‑User Support – Experience with software installs, hardware setup, email accounts, and security settings. Communication Skills – Clear written and verbal communication across all levels of the organization. Organization & Time Management – Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines. Team Collaboration – Demonstrated success working on project teams and cross‑department initiatives. Customer‑Focused Approach – Strong analytical skills, sound decision‑making, and calm performance under pressure. Flexibility – Ability to work after‑hours or on‑call as needed.
