Registered Nurse - Labor and Delivery

Job Summary:

The Registered Nurse in Labor and Delivery provides professional nursing care to women during labor, delivery, postpartum, and neonatal care. This role ensures the safety and well-being of both mother and newborn through comprehensive assessments and clinical procedures.

Responsibilities:

• 
  Perform assessments and monitor the progress of labor and delivery processes.
  
  
• 
  Prepare delivery rooms for maternal and neonatal care, including surgical preparations for C-sections and inductions.
  
  
• 
  Administer care during labor, post-delivery, and postpartum periods, including infant care and patient education.
  
  
• 
  Document nursing care accurately and adhere to infection control and departmental policies.
  
  
• 
  Provide emotional support to patients and coordinate transfers as needed.
  
  
• 
  Administer IV medications and follow sterile techniques to prevent infection.
  
  

Qualifications:

• 
  Current Colorado RN license and active CPR certification.
  
  
• 
  Neonatal Resuscitation Certification and ACLS within one year of employment.
  
  
• 
  Minimum of 4 years experience in obstetrics care preferred.
  
  
• 
  Strong knowledge or interest in labor, delivery, postpartum, and newborn nursing care.
  
  
• 
  Ability to perform effectively under stressful conditions and communicate well with diverse populations.
