Nursing - PACU

Job Title: PACU Location: Nashua, New Hampshire Schedule: 8:00AM - 5:00PM x 5 Term: 13-week assignment with the potential for extension Pay Rate : $62 - $67/hr Astrya Global, a San Diego based medical staffing agency, is hiring a PACU for a temporary assignment in Nashua, New Hampshire. These positions are 13-week contracts with the ability to extend. Responsibilities for a PACU: Render professional nursing care to patients within an assigned unit of the hospital, in support of medical care as directed by medical staff Maintain compliance in completion of all unit-specific competencies and requirements required to care for critically ill patients within the department Participate in quality improvement planning and processes for the area of practice Complete clinical documentation and care plans comprehensively for all assigned patients in a timely manner Seek feedback regarding practice and take appropriate actions Practice in accordance with current practice standards (ANA, NH Nurse Practice Act, Specialty standards) Communicate patient information appropriately for continuity and safe care through hand offs, walking rounds, and physician/provider interaction Provide a safe and secure environment for patients, visitors, and staff by following established procedures and protocols Implement resources and initiatives to improve patient safety Work within guidelines of Just Culture Environment to promote error reporting and adoption of safe practices Utilize appropriate chain of command to ensure issues are addressed Complete hourly rounding in collaboration with Licensed Nursing Assistants (LNAs) on all assigned patients Identify and assist in correction of patient care safety issues Build respectful relationships through early and proactive identification of concerns, compliments, or suggestions Collaborate unit to unit and shift to shift for timely resolution of conflicts and issues Consult with nurses in other departments/units to draw upon expertise in other clinical areas/specialties Display a professional, positive perspective at all times, including when faced with difficult circumstances Seek opportunities to assist all team members Demonstrate willingness to resolve tension within the unit or department Demonstrate practice consistent with the tenets of shared governance and the philosophy of the unit and organization Assist with solution identification in response to problems and conflicts Effectively delegate aspects of care and unit activities to other nursing personnel Collaborate in planning, supervising, and instructing other nurses and assistants Work collaboratively with nursing students and instructors Participate in peer review of colleagues Participate in DNV survey readiness Assist with insertion of Flow wire, Opsens, and IVUS Demonstrate knowledge of contraindications and reversal for IV adenosine infusion Safely administer procedural sedation and pass annual sedation examination Document sedation according to policies and procedures Maintain current New Hampshire RN license Maintain current BLS and ACLS certifications Obtain Basic Dysrhythmia certification prior to completion of orientation Obtain NIHSS certification prior to completion of orientation Complete Crisis Prevention Institute (CPI) training prior to completion of orientation Manage earned time off (ETO) per policy Avoid use of unauthorized overtime Benefits for a PACU: Weekly pay every Friday Medical/Dental/Vision/Life/Pet Insurance 401K Retirement Plan (matching) Full-service Credentialing and Corporate Travel Team Referral Bonus up to $1,500 Astrya Global Medical Staffing offers 10+ years of staffing experience, 100% domestic support, and is certified by both the Joint Commission and National Association of Locum Tenens Organizations.
