Bookkeeper (Temp-to-Hire)

Hybrid | Downtown Baltimore, MD

$25-$30/hour

Our nonprofit client, located in downtown Baltimore, is seeking a detail-oriented Bookkeeper to join their team on a temp-to-hire basis. This is an excellent opportunity for an accounting professional with nonprofit experience who enjoys working in a collaborative environment and is comfortable leveraging technology and automated processes to improve efficiency.

This role offers a flexible hybrid schedule, exposure to a mission-driven organization, and the opportunity to grow into a permanent position.

Responsibilities

• Process and enter invoices accurately and timely
• Support Accounts Payable activities using Bill.com
• Perform day-to-day bookkeeping and accounting functions
• Maintain accurate financial records and documentation
• Assist with administrative and operational support as needed
• Support process improvements and accounting automation initiatives
• Collaborate with the Accounting Manager and operations team
• Research and resolve discrepancies while ensuring data accuracy

Qualifications

• Previous bookkeeping or accounting experience required
• Nonprofit accounting experience required
• Strong attention to detail, organization, and accuracy
• Comfortable working with financial systems and automated workflows
• Ability to work independently while contributing to a team environment
• Strong communication and problem-solving skills

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with fund accounting
• Experience using Sage Intacct
• Experience using Bill.com

Schedule & Work Environment

• Full-time position
• Flexible schedule (8:30 AM-4:30 PM or 9:00 AM-5:00 PM)
• Hybrid work arrangement:
  • In-office: Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday
  • Remote: Monday and Friday
• Casual office environment
• Employer-paid parking provided

Compensation & Benefits

• $25-$30 per hour, depending on experience
• Opportunity to convert to a permanent position
