PositionSummary TheChiefofStaffservesasastrategicpartnerandforcemultipliertothePresident/CEOandexecutiveleadershipteam,ensuringthecompany'shighestprioritiesmoveforwardwithclarity,discipline,andfollow-through.Thisrolesitsattheintersectionofstrategy,operations,andcommunication—translatingleadershipvisionintoexecutableplansacrossamulti-regionconstructionandelectricalservicesorganization.TheChiefofStaffprotectsexecutivetimeandfocus,drivescross-functionalaccountability,andhelpsbuildtherepeatablesystemsandstandards(the"VanguardStandardofExcellence")thatallowthecompanytoscalewithoutrelyingonheroics. KeyResponsibilities Strategic&OperationalLeadership ServeasatrustedadvisortotheCEO/leadershipteam,providingcounselonstrategicpriorities,organizationalissues,andkeydecisions. Translateexecutivevisionandquarterly/annualgoalsintoclearexecutionplanswithowners,timelines,andmetrics. Runleadershipteammeetingsandcross-departmentalsyncs—setagendas,drivedecisions,andtrackfollow-throughonactionitems. Identifyorganizationalbottlenecks,gaps,orrisksbeforetheybecomeurgent,anddriveresolutionacrossdepartments(Operations,Finance,HR,Safety,BusinessDevelopment). Leadorco-leadspecialprojectsonbehalfoftheCEO—newmarketentry,processstandardization,systemsimplementation,orcompany-wideinitiatives. ExecutivePartnership&Communication ActasakeyliaisonbetweentheCEO/leadershipanddepartmentheads,regionalmanagers,fieldleadership,andexternalpartners. Preparebriefingmaterials,board/leadershippresentations,andinternalcommunicationsonbehalfofexecutiveleadership. FilterandprioritizeissuesescalatedtotheCEO,resolvingwhatcanberesolvedandelevatingonlywhattrulyrequiresexecutiveattention. RepresenttheCEOinmeetingswhenappropriate,andensuredecisionsandcommitmentsmadeareaccuratelycommunicatedandtracked. OrganizationalStandards&Culture ChampiontheVanguardStandardofExcellence—thecompany'sdefined"WeAlways/WeNever"behavioralstandards—andholdteamsaccountabletoit. PartnerwithHRAnddepartmentleaderstoreinforceconsistentstandardsacrossfieldandofficeoperations. Supportculture-buildinginitiatives,townhalls,andcompany-widecommunicationsthatreinforcemission,values,andstandards. Governance&Reporting Trackprogressagainstcompany-widegoals(90-day/annualpriorities)andprovideregularstatusreportingtotheCEOandleadershipteam. Coordinatetherhythmofthebusiness—boardmeetings,leadershipoffsites,quarterlybusinessreviews—includingmaterials,logistics,andfollow-up. Maintainappropriateconfidentialityanddiscretionregardingsensitivebusiness,personnel,financial,andcontractualinformation. Qualifications 5+yearsofexperienceinaChiefofStaff,senioroperations,managementconsulting,orexecutiveleadershipsupportrole;construction,trades,orfield-servicesindustryexperiencestronglypreferred. Demonstratedabilitytomanagecomplex,cross-functionalprojectsfromstrategythroughexecution. Exceptionalwrittenandverbalcommunicationskills;comfortablepreparingmaterialsforexecutiveandboard-levelaudiences. Strongbusinessacumen—abletounderstandfinancials,operations,andfieldrealitieswellenoughtotranslatebetweendepartments. Highdiscretionandsoundjudgmentinhandlingconfidentialcompany,financial,andpersonnelinformation. Bachelor'sdegreerequired;MBAorequivalentadvanceddegreeaplus. Proficiencywithbusinesstools(e.g.,MicrosoftOffice/GoogleWorkspace);familiaritywithSageIntacct,Miter,orsimilarconstruction/HRplatformsaplus. CoreCompetencies Strategicthinkingbalancedwithhands-onexecution. Buildstrustquicklyacrossalllevels—fromfieldcrewstoexecutiveleadership. Operateswithurgencyandfollow-through;closesloopswithoutbeingaskedtwice. Comfortabledeliveringdifficultmessagesandholdingothersaccountable,includingseniorleaders. Thrivesinambiguityandfast-changingprioritieswithoutlosingorganization. WorkingConditions Primarilyoffice-basedwithregulartraveltoregionalofficesandactivejobsitesacrossthecompany'soperatingfootprint.
