Part-Time, Clerical Support

This role performs clerical/secretarial tasks under general guidance of professional personnel including preparation of correspondence, reports and other documents.

Essential Functions / Key Responsibilities:

• Keep supervisor apprised of daily progress on assigned tasks.
• Greets visitors with professionalism and courtesy.
• Perform required duties according to standard practices.
• Receives incoming calls, take accurate messages and direct to appropriate staff.
• Performs general office procedures including typing, filing, mail, duplication of materials, data processing, editing and general bookkeeping/recordkeeping.
• Schedules meetings and appointments for administrative staff and maintain calendar for administrator.
• Follow district guidelines in maintaining a neat and orderly work environment and confidentiality.
• Support mission of school district by serving as a positive role model for students.
• Perform other related duties as assigned within the appropriate skill and experience capabilities expected for this position.

Minimum Requirements:

• High school diploma or GED recognized by the Texas Education Agency or a regional accrediting agency or higher.
• 3+ years of related experience, general knowledge of routine office procedures including customer service, telephone etiquette, efficient and effective filing and record keeping procedures.
• Candidate must have satisfactory outcome of fingerprinting background check. Non-refundable fee (approximately $50.00) paid by the employee.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

• Demonstrated proficiency in general office management, and procedures.
• Strong organizational, communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to interact effectively with diverse groups of individuals in a professional manner.
• Ability to follow oral and written instructions with limited supervision.
• Working knowledge of computer software programs to include word processing, database, and spreadsheets.
• Ability to adjust and adapt to a multitude of situations in the school/department environment.
• Ability to work as a member of a team to provide assistance to campus and staff.

Working Conditions Work Environment:

• Computer, computer software programs and peripherals, teacher resource materials and equipment, copier, fax, and other equipment applicable to position.
• Frequent exposure to: temperature extremes (hot and cold), humidity extremes, noise. Occasional exposure to: biological hazards (communicable diseases, bacteria, insects, mold, fungi, etc.

Physical Demands/Requirements:

• Maintain emotional control under stress; work with frequent interruptions/deadlines; frequent sitting, standing, walking, climbing, balancing, pulling and pushing; reaching, repetitive hand motions, hearing, speaking clearly, visual acuity and prolonged data input; occasional lift/carry light, moderate 15-44 pounds.
