About the Role

At Valley Vital Care, intake is the front door of the patient journey, where a referral becomes a clean, complete, ready-to-treat start. We're looking for a Specialty Intake Manager to lead the team that makes that happen. In this role, you'll oversee the specialists who move biologic and acute referrals from receipt to start, protecting speed and accuracy so patients get to therapy without delay. Just as importantly, you'll lead the people who do this work: coaching them, developing them, and building a team known for quality.

This is a role for an experienced intake or healthcare operations leader who takes pride in both a well-run process and a well-supported team.

What You'll Do

• Lead the day-to-day intake operation, ensuring referrals move accurately and quickly from receipt to ready-to-treat start across biologic and acute lines.
  
• Manage, coach, and develop a team of Intake Specialists, setting clear expectations and supporting their growth through regular feedback, one-on-ones, and reviews.
  
• Own team staffing, scheduling, and workload balancing so intake capacity keeps pace with referral volume.
  
• Track referral-to-start timelines, remove delays, and step in on complex or at-risk referrals.
  
• Own intake quality and accuracy standards, and drive process improvements that standardize best practices across the team.
  
• Partner closely with access, authorization, and pharmacy to keep referrals routing cleanly and patients moving toward therapy.
  
• Hire, onboard, and develop intake talent, building a strong bench for the future.
  

What You'll Bring

• 7 to 10 years of experience in intake, referral management, or healthcare operations, with specialty or infusion experience strongly preferred.
  
• 3 or more years of people-management experience, including leading a multi-site or distributed team.
  
• A track record of building, developing, and retaining high-performing operational teams.
  
• Deep knowledge of referral and intake processes, with a history of improving quality and standardizing best practices.
  
• Strong communication and coordination skills across provider offices, patients, and internal partners like access, authorization, and pharmacy.
  
• Comfort managing to metrics, holding a team to accuracy and timeliness standards, and turning data into action.
