Accounting Manager/Controller

Boutique NY law firm is seeking an Accounting Manager/Controller to join their office. Minimum Requirements At least 5 years of accounting experience Law firm experience and a CPA designation required Experience with 3E accounting software preferred, but not required Primary Job Functions Assist CFO and Controller in managing accounts payable, cash disbursements, invoicing/billing, customer credits and collections, fixed asset records, general accounting, and financial statements. Maintain the integrity and accuracy of the firm’s general ledger, including understanding of journal entries. Familiarity with both cash and accrual accounting methods. Prepare bank and other account reconciliations. Assist with tax filings and ensure compliance with relevant regulations. Maintain systems and controls to verify data integrity. Adhere to established accounting policies and procedures. Respond to partner inquiries with accurate and timely reports. Participate in special projects and compile reports as needed. Communicate professionally with partners, co-workers, clients, and others. Conform to all regulations, policies, and work procedures. Assist in preparing annual budgets and forecasts. Ensure accounting records are secure and accessible. Assist with books and records of non-firm entities, such as investment partnerships. Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, collaborative environment. Excellent communication skills. Ability to work independently and learn quickly. Good judgment, organization, initiative, and proactivity. Thorough understanding of accounting principles, forecasts, and budgets. Ability to collaborate with outside advisors. Advanced Microsoft Excel skills (pivot tables, macros, etc.). Highest standards of ethics and confidentiality. Education and Experience BA/BS in Accounting. Minimum 5 years of accounting experience.
