A confidential Upstate New York law firm is seeking an associate attorney (2 to 5 years of experience) to support a busy labor and employment focused practice with a meaningful education law component. This is a litigation-forward role with regular client contact and the chance to build experience across court matters and key administrative forums.

THE ROLE

- Manage and support employment and education related disputes from intake through resolution

- Draft pleadings, motions, discovery, and supporting briefs

- Prepare for and participate in depositions, hearings, and other proceedings

- Handle administrative agency matters such as EEOC and PERB proceedings and related state level matters

- Provide day-to-day client counseling and assist with trainings for management and organizational stakeholders

- Contribute to labor relations matters, including potential support on organizational labor negotiations

LOCATION, SCHEDULE AND COMPENSATION

Location:

Upstate New York (Syracuse or Rochester area)

Schedule:

In office 4 days per week

Compensation :

Base salary: $200,000

REQUIREMENTS

- 2 to 5 years of relevant litigation experience

- Labor and employment law experience and or education law experience

- Active New York bar admission

- Juris Doctor from an accredited law school

- Strong legal writing skills and comfort handling active matters with client communication

PREFERRED BACKGROUND

- Experience with labor negotiations and broader labor law issues

- Familiarity with organizational labor campaigns and related strategy considerations

- Prior experience working in administrative forums, including EEOC and PERB
