Responsibilities
- Deliver direct neonatal nursing care for a patient or patient group in the NICU, adhering to established standards of care and the nursing process
- Monitor neonatal status, interpret assessment data, and implement care plans to promote stability and growth
- Administer medications, oversee respiratory therapies, and manage measurements and IV lines as ordered
- Collaborate with the care team (neonatology, respiratory therapists, pharmacists, social work, lactation consultants) to coordinate and optimize care
- Supervise and coordinate activities of other nursing staff and assistive personnel; delegate tasks appropriately
- Participate in rounds, discharge planning, and family education to support safe transition from hospital to home
- Maintain a safe, healing environment; respond to clinical changes and emergencies in accordance with NICU protocols; may float to postpartum units per unit needs

Requirements
- Active RN license in the state of practice (California)
- Minimum two years of recent experience in the field; NICU or acute care experience preferred
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification; Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) acceptable per policy
- Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) certification required
- BSN (Bachelor of Science in Nursing) preferred; not required
- Ability to work in a NICU setting and comply with unit policies; may float to postpartum as needed
