We are seeking a CNC Lead/Supervisor to join a local custom machine shop for a direct hire.

Pay: $35-42/HR

Oversees 7-8 direct employees

Description:

Under the direction of the Operations Manager, the CNC Lead is responsible for providing direction to the CNC department and support Management, as necessary. To develop processes to provide departmental efficiencies and enhance company profitability.

Principal Accountabilities:

•       Coach / Mentor department (Specialists, Machinists, Apprentices).

•       Schedule and manage workload of the department.

•       Ability to program simple and complex parts using CAM software.

•       Ability to set up and operate various CNC machines.

•       Knowledge to manually write a program at the machine controls.

•       Manage product quality and ensure deadlines are met.

•       Develop and maintain consistent standards for RTD.

•       Analyze and write processes for complex work going though machines.

•       Assist in quoting CNC work, when necessary.

•       Analyze quality data, identify problem areas, and assist in revolving manufacturing processes or methods that affect quality.

•       Participate in cross functional teams to address and resolve problems and to ensure the continuous, on-going improvement of processes and methods, including supervisor meetings.

•       Liaison between CNC team on Is' & 2nd shift.

•       Provide support to shop supervisors.

•       Ability to sign in pieces for a set up along with compound angle setups.

•       Assist in development and implementation of procedures and controls to promote efficient lean operations of the organization and ensure the groups follow those procedures and controls.

•       Ability to multi-task several issues and jobs.

•       Ensure the completion of all paperwork, records, documents, etc.

•       Able to work overtime to meet the needs of customer timelines.

•       Follow all clean up and housekeeping procedures.

•       Comply with all quality, safety, and sanitation regulations.

•       Support the company's quality policy, ISO 9001, ISO 13485, 5S practices, LEAN and world class manufacturing initiatives.

•       Commit to the corporate goals, mission, and vision.

•       Regular physical attendance is required.

•       Travel, as required.

•       Other duties as assigned.

Minimum Requirements: Education:

•       High School diploma.

•       7-10 years of CNC machining experience.

•       Knowledge of CNC programming software.

•       Progressive knowledge of industry software: SolidWorks and CAD/CAM.

•       Knowledge of geometric tolerance and ability to read complex prints.

•       Intermediate use of Microsoft software.

Language Skills:

•       Ability to read, analyze, and interpret common blueprints.

•       Ability to write reports, meetings minutes and procedures manuals.

•       Ability to effectively communicate with team members, management, vendors, customers, and other employees of the organization, including negotiating and conflict management.

Mathematical Skills:

•       Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference, and fundamentals of plane and solid geometry and trigonometry.

•       Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as dimensions, tolerances, proportions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.

Reasoning Ability:

•       Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of abstract and concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.

•       Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.

Preferred Requirements:

•       CAD knowledge

•       3D knowledge

•       Basic business knowledge

•       Able to work overtime at the required times in order to meet our customer demands

•       To have the ability to multi-task while doing assigned work in conjunction to assisting others

•       Journeyman's card in CNC and/or tool making

•       Prior experience working with automotive, aerospace and medical industries

•       Prior manufacturing experience, in a non-production environment, useful
