Assistant Executive Director

Position Summary The Assistant Executive Director serves as a strategic and operational partner to the Executive Director. This role is responsible for managing the overall member experience, key initiatives, driving organizational priorities, supervising select team members, and ensuring the effective operation of the Theta Xi Headquarters in Atlanta, GA. Acting as a liaison with internal and external constituents, the Assistant Executive Director helps streamline decision‑making, ensures alignment with organizational goals, and provides oversight for critical projects. Key Responsibilities Facilitate the designing of an experience for brothers from the time of joining Theta Xi throughout their alumni experience and serve as the genesis point for metrics to measure impact. Through the day‑to‑day management of the Undergraduate Experience, Organizational Growth, Alumni Experience, Leadership Education, and Service areas, design a lifetime engagement model. Oversee the chapter‑facing teams tasked with providing appropriate training to members, partnering with campus administrators, advisors, and other staff as it relates to chapter accountability and rehabilitation plans. Partner with the Executive Director in the management and execution of the Fraternity’s strategic plan. Take the lead among the Fraternity staff team to update and regularly review goals and progress toward the strategic plan. Partner with the Executive Director on staff development, internal organizational planning and shaping the Theta Xi experience. Oversee the programs, events and opportunities provided by Theta Xi, including but not limited to: Vredenburgh Presidents Academy, Rising Stars Academy, Newell Officer Academy, and Anniversary Convention. Serve as staff liaison to and collaborate with volunteers to select District Directors, Delegates to the Grand Lodge (chapter advisors), and national committees. Recruit volunteers and oversee the development of the volunteer experience. Interface with the Fraternity’s insurance provider when needed. Serve as the leader of the risk response team, work on cases when assigned, monitor progress, support chapter accountability and rehabilitation plans, and provide resources to assist chapters in completing their sanctions. Be part of after‑hours response procedures for any emergencies that may arise. Assume financial oversight and management of program budgets related to areas of responsibility. Represent the Fraternity at industry events, along with or in place of the Executive Director. Travel as needed, up to 40% of the time. Other opportunities as assigned. Who are we looking for? An established and accomplished professional with 5+ years of experience in policy governance or association management and an understanding of higher education. Background areas should include staff supervision, volunteer development, event management, crisis response, and chapter operations, with experience on college campuses, fraternity/sorority headquarters, or umbrella associations. A motivated, respected, energetic, and supportive professional with advanced knowledge of the fraternity/sorority industry and a desire to be a change‑maker in a progressive organization. A sense of humor, ability to connect with different personalities, and a true collaborative spirit. Someone who can see the bigger picture without being afraid to dive into the details of projects.
