Primary Purpose of Position The primary purpose of this position is to provide clinical experiences that foster and provide graduate students with the necessary knowledge, skills, and clinical hours required to meet ASHA certification and North Carolina licensure standards in Speech‑Language Pathology. This position will facilitate alignment with and maintain accreditation by the Council for Academic Accreditation (CAA) in Audiology and Speech‑Pathology. Duties of the position include but are not limited to: providing supervision for graduate students during clinical practicum experiences, ensuring compliance with professional standards and university policies, maintaining documentation, and collaborating with faculty and community partners. Those with administration experience may assist with the coordination and management of community‑based practicum placements. Responsibilities Provide clinical supervision to graduate students during practicum experiences. Ensure compliance with professional standards, university policies, and accreditation requirements. Maintain accurate documentation of student progress and clinical hours. Collaborate with faculty and community partners to facilitate placement opportunities. Coordinate and manage community‑based field placements when applicable. Participate in service to the department, university, and profession. Engage in scholarly activities that support the mission of the department and university. Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Candidates with expertise in neurogenic and acquired communication disorders, multilingual populations, and/or complex communication needs will receive preferential consideration. Other areas of expertise will also be considered. Candidates must be familiar with current trends of the profession and have knowledge of disabilities across the lifespan. A commitment to effective clinical education and student development is required. Qualifications Earned Master’s in Speech‑Language Pathology (SLP) or Communication Sciences and Disorders. Three years of experience as a certified SLP is preferred. Licenses or Certification required by Statute or Regulation Certification – Certificate of Clinical Competence in Speech‑Language Pathology from ASHA; possess or be eligible for NC licensure in Speech‑Language Pathology; documentation of two (2) hours of professional development / continuing education in clinical instruction / supervision if offered the position.
