Accounts Payable Accountant Salary: $70,000 – $80,000 + potential flexibility for a stronger candidate Location: Alexandria, VA – In-office, 5 days/week Why This Opportunity Stands Out: This is a great opportunity for an experienced AP professional ready for more ownership and broader accounting exposure. You’ll own the day-to-day AP function while also gaining exposure to budget reporting, variance analysis, purchase orders, and additional accounting responsibilities over time. Work directly with the Director of Finance and CFO in a small, collaborative Business Office Take ownership of a new PO system rollout and monthly departmental budget reporting Opportunity to expand into broader accounting responsibilities Excellent benefits including generous PTO/paid holidays, medical/dental/vision, employer HSA contributions, up to 10% employer retirement contribution, employer-paid life/disability coverage, free meals, parking, and onsite fitness/recreational facilities Beautiful environment with a stable, friendly culture and strong commitment to professional development Key Responsibilities: Own day-to-day Accounts Payable, including invoices, check requests, payments, W-9s, and 1099s Ensure accurate GL coding, documentation, approvals, and timely payments Review and reconcile corporate credit card transactions Prepare monthly budget reports, research variances, and assist department heads with questions Oversee the purchase order system and help lead the rollout of a new PO process Maintain AP records, reconciliations, and internal controls Take on additional accounting responsibilities as the role develops Qualifications: 3 – 5+ years of experience in Accounts Payable and/or budget reporting and analysis Hands‑on AP experience and willingness to personally manage transactional processing Experience with purchase order systems and departmental budget reporting Strong attention to detail, accuracy, organization, and time management Ability to work independently and manage competing deadlines Comfortable researching variances and communicating with department heads Basic Excel skills Ability to work onsite in Alexandria five days per week If you’re an AP professional who wants to own your function while expanding beyond traditional Accounts Payable, we’d love to talk with you. #AccountsPayable #AccountsPayableJobs #APJobs #BudgetAnalyst #AccountingJobs #SeniorAccountsPayable #AlexandriaVA #NorthernVirginiaJobs #CFS #CFStaffing #J-18808-Ljbffr
