Position Type: Full-Time Salary: Negotiable Category: Geology, Earth Sciences, and Oceanography Posting Number: F01133P Department: Sustainable Earth Systems Science Pay Basis: Monthly Location: Richardson Position Status: Academic Year Start Date: August 1, 2026 (Fall 2026 semester) Job Summary The University of Texas at Dallas is recruiting two (2) open‑rank full‑time Professors of Instruction in the Department of Sustainable Earth Systems Sciences (SESS), School of Natural Sciences and Mathematics (NSM). These positions require teaching the equivalent of four (4) 3‑semester credit hour lecture courses each semester, both in‑person and online, primarily to undergraduate students, including BS Geosciences majors and other non‑majors. Teaching areas include undergraduate geology, earth sciences, hydrology, and environmental sciences. Undergraduate research project mentoring is encouraged, and service on department committees is modest and assigned by the Department Head. Responsibilities Teach four (4) 3‑semester credit hour lecture courses per semester, both in‑person and online. Engage undergraduate students from diverse backgrounds in geology, earth sciences, hydrology, and environmental sciences. Mentor undergraduate research projects. Provide modest service on department committees as assigned by the Department Head. Begin appointment on August 1, 2026 (Fall 2026 semester). Qualifications A PhD or equivalent in Earth Sciences or a related discipline; ABD status considered at the application/interviewing stage. Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a collaborative, engaging, and dynamic environment with individuals of diverse backgrounds and perspectives. Experience delivering high‑quality teaching at the undergraduate BS level using evidence‑based practices. Strong record of productivity and professional achievement in an academic discipline related to Earth Sciences.
