Senior Accountant, Revenue Recognition

Senior Accountant supporting revenue recognition functions at a major medical technology company. Responsibilities include contract analysis per ASC 606/842, month-end reconciliations, SOX controls, and quarterly audit coordination in a San Diego-based role requiring 4 days on-site weekly.
Responsibilities
- Review and assess complex contracts for proper revenue treatment under ASC 606 and ASC 842
- Perform revenue analysis, month-end reconciliations, and journal entry postings
- Maintain and reconcile balance sheet accounts related to revenue with supporting documentation
- Execute SOX controls, fluctuation analysis, and prepare quarterly disclosures
- Collaborate with FP&A and project management teams on revenue accounting treatments
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance
- Minimum 1+ years audit or relevant accounting work experience
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills including pivot tables and complex formulas
- Strong verbal and written communication abilities
- Self-directed with effective team collaboration skills
- CPA certification preferred
- Big 4 accounting firm experience strongly preferred
Compensation: $73,400-$117,400 USD annual
