Position Overview

The Senior Fund Accountant will support the monthly close, shadow accounting, and control environment for a growing multi strategy hedge fund platform. This individual will work closely with Accounting, Operations, the third party fund administrator, and other external service providers.

The ideal candidate is proactive, accountable, and comfortable managing competing deadlines. This is a key contributor role without direct reports that offers significant ownership and opportunities to improve processes.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare and review monthly journal entries, supporting schedules, and other NAV related items

• Manage assigned close processes, timelines, dependencies, and deliverables

• Analyze profit and loss and balance sheet activity, investigate variances, and document conclusions

• Perform shadow accounting and reconcile internal reporting against administrator records

• Review administrator deliverables across cash, NAV, fees, expenses, and investor allocations

• Identify discrepancies and coordinate resolution with internal teams and external providers

• Support cash activity, wire processing, and reconciliations across internal records, banks, prime brokers, and administrator reporting

• Maintain reconciliation workpapers and clear documentation of outstanding items

• Assist with internal controls, annual audit requests, and regulatory reporting

• Identify opportunities to improve workflows through standardization, automation, and responsible use of AI

Qualifications

• 3 to 6 years of experience in public accounting, hedge fund accounting, fund administration, or investment management accounting

• Strong understanding of US GAAP and monthly close processes

• Experience managing complex reconciliations across multiple systems and data sources

• Experience with shadow accounting and fund administrator oversight preferred
