Accounting & Financial Analyst

Kforce's client in Houston, TX is looking for an Accounting & Financial Analyst to support month-end close activities, balance sheet reconciliations, accrual accounting, financial analysis, and management reporting. In addition, the Accounting & Financial Analyst plays a key part in enhancing and expanding the organization's Power BI reporting environment by developing meaningful reports, improving data accessibility, and delivering actionable financial insights to business leaders. Essential Job Functions: Accounting & Financial Close Support:

• Support monthly, quarterly, and annual financial close processes
• Prepare and review balance sheet reconciliations and account analyses to ensure accuracy and completeness
• Support the preparation and review of accruals, journal entries, reserves, and other accounting adjustments
• Support compliance with accounting policies, internal controls, and financial reporting requirements
• Support internal and external audit activities through preparation of analyses and supporting documentation

• Prepare recurring financial reports and management reporting packages
• Support monthly financial reviews through variance analysis and performance reporting
• Analyze balance sheet and income statement trends and provide insight into key business drivers
• Assist with working capital, inventory, accrual, and reserve analysis
• Support budgeting and forecasting processes through financial analysis and reporting

• Support the development, maintenance, and enhancement of Power BI dashboards and reporting tools
• Partner with finance and business stakeholders to understand reporting requirements and translate them into scalable reporting solutions
• Assist in building reporting structures that improve visibility into key financial and operational metrics
• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Finance, Accounting, or related discipline; CMA or CPA certifications preferred
• 5+ years of accounting, financial reporting, financial analysis, or related experience
• Strong understanding of accounting principles, financial statements, and month-end close processes
• Experience preparing balance sheet reconciliations, accruals, account analyses, and financial reviews
• Experience developing, maintaining, or supporting Power BI dashboards and reporting solutions
• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills required
• SAP or other ERP system experience preferred
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills
• Excellent attention to detail and commitment to data accuracy
• Effective written and verbal communication skills with the ability to present financial information clearly
• Ability to collaborate effectively across multiple functions and levels of the organization
• Self-motivated with the ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a dynamic environment
