Work Environment

This position is based onsite, primarily within the residential spaces of the clients you serve, located in Ashburn, Virginia. You will foster an environment of healing and support in the comfort of your clients' homes, allowing for personalized interactions that enhance therapeutic outcomes. As part of a larger team, you will work closely with physical therapy assistants and other healthcare professionals to ensure holistic patient care.

Key Responsibilities

• Direct physical therapy treatment focused on preventing disability, alleviating pain, and enhancing muscle function and overall performance according to individualized care plans.
• Provide oversight and direction to physical therapy assistants to ensure the proper implementation of therapeutic interventions.
• Conduct thorough evaluations of clients' physical capabilities using diagnostic tests to assess muscle, nerve, and joint function.
• Analyze the home environment to make informed recommendations that promote client independence in daily activities.
• Implement prescribed physical therapy services in alignment with physician directives, ensuring comprehensive documentation and patient education.
• Administer therapeutic exercises, motivate clients, and facilitate participation in both manual and non-manual exercise routines.
• Evaluate and fit clients for prosthetic and orthotic devices while coordinating modifications with medical practitioners.
• Collaborate within interdisciplinary teams, actively participating in case conferences to assess and manage client progress.
• Prepare and maintain accurate clinical documentation, including evaluations, progress notes, and discharge summaries, to ensure continuity of care.
• Provide education and training to clients and their families regarding physical therapy programs and home care devices.

Patient Population / Client Focus

This role will focus on a diverse range of patients requiring home care physical therapy services, including those recovering from surgeries, managing chronic conditions, or needing rehabilitation after hospital stays. You will engage with clients across different age groups, emphasizing tailored treatment plans that address specific physical challenges and personal goals.

Qualifications

• A Doctorate degree in Physical Therapy (DPT) from an accredited institution.
• Valid and current physical therapy licensure in the state of Virginia.
• Current CPR certification that meets local regulations.
• Strong interpersonal communication skills to build rapport with clients and families.
• High level of professionalism and the ability to act as a public advocate for home healthcare.
• Creative problem-solving skills and the ability to make informed patient care decisions.

Preferred Experience

Compensation and Benefits
