Carpenter (Property Maintenance)Pay: $24–$28/hourJob DescriptionWe are seeking a skilled Carpenter to support a property maintenance company servicing multiple residential and commercial properties throughout the Rhode Island area. This role combines hands-on carpentry with general building maintenance, repairs, and upkeep to ensure properties remain safe, functional, and visually well-maintained.The ideal candidate has strong carpentry experience, enjoys variety in their workday, and can handle a mix of finish work, repairs, and general maintenance tasks. Finish carpentry experience is a strong plus.ResponsibilitiesTravel to multiple properties to complete scheduled and on-demand maintenance and carpentry workPerform general building maintenance and repairs across interior and exterior spacesComplete carpentry tasks including rough carpentry and finish work such as trim, doors, molding, and detail workInstall, repair, and finish drywall, including taping, mudding, sanding, and prep for paintingAssist with flooring installation, including layout, cutting, and proper installation techniquesPatch and repair roofing as needed to maintain building integrityPerform light concrete work including cutting, removal, and patchingUse hand and power tools safely and efficiently for carpentry and maintenance tasksMeasure, cut, and install materials accurately using tape measures and other toolsConduct general upkeep tasks such as minor mechanical troubleshooting and repairsPerform basic cleaning and debris removal to maintain organized and safe worksitesRemove trash and construction debris from job sitesSupport general maintenance and property improvement projects as neededCommunicate with supervisors regarding progress, materials, and any issues encounteredFollow all safety procedures and maintain a clean, organized work environmentRequired SkillsExperience in carpentry within a construction, maintenance, or property services environmentStrong knowledge of both rough carpentry and finish carpentry (finish experience preferred)Experience with drywall installation and finishingAbility to perform general building maintenance and repair tasksProficiency using hand tools and power tools common in carpentry and maintenance workAbility to read a tape measure and make precise cuts and installationsExperience with flooring installation and general repair workAbility to perform physically demanding tasks including lifting, bending, and standing for extended periodsReliable transportation and willingness to travel between propertiesAbility to work independently and manage tasks across multiple job sitesPreferred QualificationsFinish carpentry experience (trim, cabinetry, detailed finish work)Experience in property maintenance or commercial building maintenanceFamiliarity with metal studs and light commercial construction materialsBasic knowledge of multiple trades (carpentry, drywall, concrete, general maintenance)Strong attention to detail and quality workmanshipGood time management and ability to prioritize tasks across locationsWhy Work Here?Join a family-owned property maintenance company that values quality work, reliability, and long-term team members.
