Step into a rewarding opportunity as a 1:1 Special Education Teacher for the 2026-2027 school year. This onsite, full-time contract role is situated near scenic Mount Pleasant, SC, and welcomes travel professionals from the Charlotte, North Carolina area who are passionate about supporting students’ individual educational journeys.
Required Qualifications:
- Current and active South Carolina Special Education Teaching certification (required for interview consideration)
- Experience working in a school environment as a Special Education Teacher, preferably supporting students in a 1:1 setting
- Strong communication skills for effective collaboration with students, parents, and multidisciplinary teams
- Ability to adapt instruction and behavioral approaches to fit individual learner needs
- Commitment to fostering a nurturing and inclusive classroom environment
- Organized, flexible, and proactive problem-solver
Core Responsibilities:
- Deliver tailored instructional support to a designated student with disabilities, adapting lessons and strategies for optimal learning outcomes
- Collaborate with general education teachers, therapists, and administrative staff to coordinate services and track progress
- Develop, implement, and monitor IEP goals, ensuring compliance with all regulatory requirements
- Maintain detailed records, documentation, and communication regarding student progress and interventions
- Encourage student independence, confidence, and social-emotional growth
- Participate in professional development sessions and IEP meetings as required
