Licensed Strategic Underwriting Specialist

Working remotely in a full-time capacity, the Licensed Strategic Underwriting Specialist will manage underwriting pipelines during staff absences, absorb overflow loan volume, and ensure accurate updates to loan files throughout the post-closing process. Key responsibilities: Cover underwriter pipelines during planned and unplanned absences to maintain operational continuity Absorb overflow loan volume across multiple teams to meet production targets and service commitments Review and update loan files after closing for any necessary changes or outstanding conditions Required qualifications: 5+ years of front-line mortgage underwriting experience across all agency product types Active DE, SAR, and LAPP certifications Experience with Encompass LOS preferred Advanced knowledge of agency guidelines and AUS findings (DU/LP) Demonstrated proficiency in underwriting Conventional, FHA, USDA, and VA loan products
