Accounting Clerk

Responsibilities

Kforce has a client that is seeking an Accounting Clerk in Venice, IL. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

• Accounting Clerk will process daily cash receipts and ensure coding to the appropriate account and company
• Make daily electronic deposits and weekly cash deposits
• Identify and record daily ACH transactions
• Prepare the daily cash report
• Entry of departmental journal entries in general ledger
• Maintain filing records for departmental operations, including but not limited to cash receipts and journal entries
• Prepare documentation requested for various audits
• Verify work tickets, weights, and load/shipment information
• Process customer invoicing
• As an Accounting Clerk, you will review shipment documentation and validate calculations
• Process and verify invoices related to company expenses and shop purchases
• Perform basic accounting and data entry tasks
• Assist with general administrative projects as needed
• Perform other duties and assist Staff Accountants, Senior Accountant and Controller as needed

Requirements

• High School diploma/GED required
• Associate degree preferred
• Minimum of 2 years of previous accounting experience
• Strong working knowledge of and experience with Microsoft Excel and Word
• Basic accounting knowledge
• Strong data entry and math skills
• Experience with Microsoft Dynamics GP financial software preferred
• Experience with invoicing preferred
• QuickBooks experience preferred
• Bilingual candidates are a plus

The pay range is the lowest to highest compensation we reasonably in good faith believe we would pay at posting for this role. We may ultimately pay more or less than this range. Employee pay is based on factors like relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, location, performance, union contract and business needs. This range may be modified in the future.

We offer comprehensive benefits including medical/dental/vision insurance, HSA, FSA, 401(k), and life, disability & ADD insurance to eligible employees. Salaried personnel receive paid time off. Hourly employees are not eligible for paid time off unless required by law. Hourly employees on a Service Contract Act project are eligible for paid sick leave.
