Position Summary: The Junior Accountant will support day-to-day accounting operations, monthly and quarterly close activities, account reconciliations, financial reporting schedules, audit and tax requests, and internal control documentation for a Nasdaq-listed technology company. This role is ideal for an early-career accounting professional who is detail-oriented, organized, eager to learn, and interested in building a strong foundation in corporate accounting, U.S. GAAP, SEC reporting support, and public-company finance processes. Key Responsibilities: Prepare, review, and post routine journal entries with complete and accurate supporting documentation. Perform bank, credit card, intercompany, accrual, prepaid expense, fixed asset, debt, equity, and other balance sheet reconciliations. Investigate reconciliation differences, follow up on outstanding items, and document resolution steps in a timely manner. Support accounts payable and accounts receivable activities, including invoice review, vendor records, customer billing support, payment preparation, and cash application. Assist with monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes, including preparing close schedules, variance explanations, tie-outs, and supporting workpapers. Prepare and maintain schedules used for financial statements, footnotes, management reporting, external audit requests, tax filings, and SEC reporting support. Gather, organize, and validate documentation requested by external auditors, tax advisors, regulators, and internal stakeholders. Help maintain compliance with company accounting policies, approval workflows, internal controls, and SOX-related documentation. Support ERP, workflow, and process improvement initiatives by identifying recurring issues, improving documentation, and helping standardize accounting procedures. Communicate professionally with internal departments and external vendors to resolve accounting questions, obtain approvals, and improve transaction accuracy. Maintain organized accounting files and ensure records are retained in accordance with company policy. Assist with ad hoc accounting, finance, and reporting projects assigned. Basic Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field. 0–2 years of corporate accounting, public accounting, financial reporting, or relevant internship experience. Foundational understanding of U.S. GAAP, the accounting close cycle, journal entries, reconciliations, and financial statement preparation. Intermediate Microsoft Excel skills, including formulas, pivot tables, lookups, and the ability to organize and analyze financial data. Experience with ERP or accounting systems is preferred; experience with NetSuite, SAP, Oracle, QuickBooks, or similar systems is a plus. Exposure to SEC reporting, SOX controls, external audit support, tax support, or public-company reporting environments is a plus. Strong attention to detail, accuracy, time management, and documentation discipline. Ability to manage multiple priorities, meet deadlines, follow established procedures, and escalate issues appropriately. Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to work collaboratively across finance, operations, and external service providers. CPA candidate, CPA exam progress, or interest in pursuing CPA certification is preferred but not required. Preferred Qualifications: Accuracy and accountability in handling financial information. Experience maintaining accounting records consistently and in accordance with company policy. Ability to provide reliable support for reporting, compliance, audit, and operational finance needs.
