Assistant Controller

Position OverviewKeany Produce is seeking a reliable and detail-oriented Assistant Controller to support the preparation of financial statements. Working under the guidance of the Corporate Controller, the position will play a crucial role in leading the day-to-day accounting operations, including but not limited to treasury management, month end close, financial reporting, and financial planning for multiple operational entities.The candidate must possess a strong understanding of accounting principles, strong organizational skills, a keen attention to detail, and be dependable and capable of working independently and collaboratively.This position is expected to be in the office most days. Remote days will be a possibility but will be the exception rather than the norm to support the work-life balance of the candidate.ResponsibilitiesWill have the ability to oversee and run the day-to-day operations of our various operating entitiesSupport most aspects of accounting management (billing, tax forms, reporting etc.)Assist in the preparation of financial statements in compliance with official guidelines and requirementsRecord journal entries, and review the journal entries, invoices etc. input by clerks and junior level accountants, and reconcile or review accounts for the monthly or annual closingCoordinate and oversee cash management and disbursement process for assigned entitiesManagement of accounts payable team for assigned entitiesAssist in the preparation of budgets or forecastsParticipate in preparation for the annual auditHelp in development of reports for management or regulatory bodiesEducationBachelor’s degree in business administration with a major in Accounting, Finance or a related fieldA CPA is also highly desirableExperience5years of advance accounting experience5 years of management/supervisory experience5years of financial and administrative experience.KnowledgeSolid knowledge of GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles) and regulationsWorking knowledge of MS Office (special consideration given to those with high functioning excel use)General knowledge of accounting and financial processes (budgeting, financial closure, reporting etc.)Ability to work with large data sets preferredWell-organized with ability to prioritize, but also flexible when needed to support the businessGood communication and interpersonal skillsAttention to detail and problem-solving abilitySkills and AbilitiesAbility to maintain good working relationships with co-workers, supervisor, management, and other internal and external customersAbility to maintain a high level of accuracy in preparing and entering financial informationAbility to maintain confidentiality concerning financial filesComputer skills including the ability to operate computerized accounting, spreadsheet, and word processing programs, and email at a highly proficient levelAnalytical and problem-solving skillsOral and Written communication skillsOrganizational skills #J-18808-Ljbffr PJK FOOD SERVICE LLC
