Assistant Store Manager - Rock ' N ' Road - Mission Viejo, CA

We are seeking an assistant store manager to support retail operations, lead staff, and champion our brand. Job Summary The assistant store manager balances excellence in retail operations with a passion for people and the power of a great brand. They take on day‑to‑day store operations in the Store Manager’s absence, drive profitability, nurture customer relationships, and support the broader Specialized team in events, education, and brand initiatives. How You’ll Make a Difference Act as the store’s representative and lead teammates in the absence of the Store Manager by managing daily operations, scheduling, inventory counts, and team development. Coach and support new and existing retail teammates. Help achieve profitability targets by covering or exceeding the store’s run cost to maximize contribution to Specialized’s national revenue. Deliver inclusive, rider‑focused, local experiences that align with The Specialized Way. Track revenue goals (weekly, monthly, quarterly, annual) and assist with performance objectives. Build and sustain long‑term relationships with key riders and retailers based on data about preferences and purchases. Maintain cleanliness and organizational standards for the retail location. Ensure timely delivery of special orders and home deliveries. Collaborate with the service manager to manage rider expectations and service metrics. Work with operations/receiving to manage inventory, including receiving, processing, and merchandising all new and on‑hand inventory. Ensure compliance with all company policies and procedures. Perform additional duties as assigned. What You Need To Win Passion for cycling and the Specialized brand. Minimum 1 year of retail experience. Excellent communication skills and the ability to interact effectively with riders and teammates. Availability to work weekends and holidays as business requires. Physical ability to stand for extended periods and walk, kneel, or reach as needed. Ability to lift at least 50 lbs safely.
