Neuro Unit Nurse

Provide specialized nursing care to patients on the Neuro unit, focusing on neurological and neurosurgical conditions. Ensure high-quality patient monitoring and intervention in a fast-paced environment during night shifts.

Responsibilities:

• Assess patient conditions and prioritize care needs in accordance with physician orders and clinical protocols.
• Administer medications and treatments while monitoring for adverse reactions.
• Utilize Epic charting system to accurately document patient information and interventions.
• Monitor telemetry and oximetry readings to detect changes in neurological status.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary team members to develop and implement individualized care plans.
• Maintain patient safety and comfort, ensuring compliance with institutional protocols and safety standards.

Qualifications:

• Valid nursing license in the state of practice.
• Minimum of 2 years of relevant medical-surgical nursing experience, with experience in neuro units preferred.
• Proficiency in Epic electronic medical record system.
• Current certifications: NIHSS and BLS required.
• Ability to manage a patient ratio of 1:6 effectively during night shift hours.
• Strong clinical assessment and critical thinking skills.
