- Present and maintain a high level of professionalism as a volunteer coach while demonstrating an exemplary level of integrity within the program.
- Have sport specific experience
- Be proficient in methods of instruction sport specific skills
- Meet MSHSAA Assistant Coaching Requirements according to the guidelines presented in the MSHSAA handbook (sec 3.1)
- Candidates must complete a background check prior to volunteering
- The successful candidate will fulfill the duties as follows...
- Assist the head coach in program events and practices (items include scoring games, assisting with documentation/communication and tournaments)
- Assist the head coach in planning, organizing and operating efficient practices and events
- Assist with the preparation of JV and varsity games (home & away)
- Attend and assist off-season workouts, camp and activities as deemed necessary by the head coach
- Be able to effectively communicate with students/athletes regarding their progress, performance and critical needs to improve
- Be able to effectively communicate with parents
