Lecturer - SOC 201: Introductory Statistics for the Social Sciences (Fall 2026) Institution: California State University San Marcos Position: Lecturer - Academic Year Semester: Fall 2026 Day/Time: TBD Modality: In-Person College: College of Humanities, Arts, Behavioral and Social Sciences Department: Sociology and Criminology & Justice Studies Teach SOC 201: Introductory Statistics for the Social Sciences, a part‑time role for the Fall 2026 semester at Cal State San Marcos. Course Description: Presentation and description of data, contingency table construction and interpretation, introduction to multivariate analysis, correlation and hypothesis testing. Minimum Qualifications A master’s degree in the area of instruction or a closely related field. California State University’s Out‑of‑State Employment Policy requires employment in California. Preferred Qualifications A doctoral or terminal degree in the area of instruction or a closely related field. Higher education experience teaching Sociology and/or Criminology & Justice Studies. Intercultural competence and a commitment to serving the campus community. Salary Salary commensurate with degree level and experience. Anticipated Hiring Salary Range: $5,507 – $8,000 per full‑time month. CSU Classification Salary Range Lecturer A – AY: $5,507 – $6,677 per full‑time month. CSU Classification Salary Range Lecturer B – AY: $6,221 – $13,224 per full‑time month. Expected hiring range generally near the minimum of the appropriate range, commensurate with education and experience.
