Senior Staff Accountant

Senior Staff AccountantHill Administrative Services is looking for an experienced, self-directed Senior Staff Accountant to join our Accounting & Finance team in Omaha. This is a hands-on role with real ownership — you'll take the lead on journal entries, reconciliations, month-end close, and more, working closely with our Controller in an environment where strong processes are still being built. If you're the kind of accountant who doesn't need to be told what to do next, takes pride in accuracy, and enjoys helping shape how things get done, this could be a great fit.• Prepare and post journal entries; manage account and bank reconciliations• Own prepaids, fixed assets, accrual calculations, and assigned balance sheet accounts• Take primary responsibility for assigned areas of the month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close• Prepare first drafts of financial statements and provide variance explanations• Submit fuel tax information and assist with state sales tax returns• Prepare supporting schedules and documentation for external audit support• Contribute to process improvement and documentation as the accounting function continues to develop• Assist with budget preparation, forecasting, and AP/AR processes as needed• 5+ years of full-cycle accounting experience with demonstrated ownership of close processes• Bachelor's degree in Accounting required; CPA or progress toward CPA preferred• Self-directed and dependable — comfortable managing your work without constant direction• Advanced Excel skills required; Great Plains (Microsoft Dynamics GP) experience strongly preferred• Transportation or logistics accounting experience a plus — but a strong candidate won't be ruled out without it• Strong attention to detail, high standards for accuracy, and a process improvement mindsetHill Administrative Services is part of the Hill Brothers family of transportation companies — a family-owned business in Omaha built on seven core values: Tradition, Give a Sh*t, We Not Me, Adaptable, Relentless, Spirit of Service, and Forward-Thinking.
