Senior Communications Specialist

The annual salary for this position ranges from $52,200 to $73,000. The final offer will be commensurate with the candidate’s relevant experience and qualifications. Documents Needed to Apply Required : Resume References (minimum of three) Purpose of Position Develops and maintains all Division channels and websites and ensures accessibility. Provides marketing and communications direction and support for the Division of Student Success. Drafts slide decks, remarks, impact reports, and other written materials. Responsible for the development of creative and professional content for Division communications, including graphic design. Assist with coordination of special events. Supervises student employees. Essential Functions Develop and maintain all Division websites and channels through the University’s content management system. Ensure accessibility of websites and other Division communications materials. Observes defined university branding guidelines and employs best practices in user interface, navigation, accessibility, search engine optimization, security, and responsiveness. Assists departments and other entities with planning, development, and implementation of web solutions. Consults with and provides support to faculty and staff with website-related needs. Recommends and coordinates solutions. Serve as the Division’s marketing and communications point of contact for internal departments, academic and business units. Create content, graphic design materials, and draft communications to address evolving University and Division needs, objectives, and targeted outcomes for varied audiences including faculty and staff, and campus stakeholders. Collaborate with the division leadership team, department directors, campus partners from cross-functional teams and key stakeholders to develop impactful communications materials. Serve as a liaison between Student Success and Marketing, Messaging, and Engagement and serve as a member on university committees to assist with the marketing, promotion and implementation of major Division initiatives and University events. Create, manage, and execute calendars, scripts, etc. for marketing campaigns related to initiatives within the Division. Maintain various lists of campus contacts and campus community stakeholders. Assist in the coordination and execution of special events as determined by supervisor. Performs other duties as assigned. Required Qualifications Bachelor's degree in higher education, marketing, journalism, English, public relations, communications, information systems, technology, or related field and two (2) years of advanced experience designing, developing, implementing, and managing complex web sites and marketing, content creation, and communications experience or six (6) years of an equivalent combination of education and experience. Preferred Qualifications Master’s degree and student supervision experience. Working knowledge and demonstrated practical ability in coding web development solutions using web programming languages. Experience in collecting and using user data from email, web and social media marketing, as well as a working knowledge of print and electronic design trends, web site navigation, photography and production. Knowledge, Skills & Abilities Experience with Sitecore or web content management systems. Strong knowledge of the usage and implementation of Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook and Teams, as well as Adobe Creative Suite. Additional email marketing programs, social media experience and web content management system knowledge may be required. Training is available for systems in use. Excellent organization, editing, and writing skills, as well as high degree of creativity. Strong project management, interpersonal and communication skills. Ability to manage multiple concurrent projects.
