General Ledger AccountantTriumvirate Environmental, one of the largest environmental services firms in North America, is seeking a General Ledger Accountant for our Northampton, PA team.The detail-oriented and analytical General Ledger Accountant is responsible for ensuring the integrity of accounting information by recording, verifying, consolidating, and entering financial transactions, as well as maintaining accurate and GAAP-compliant financial documents.Triumvirate Environmental provides leading organizations in the higher education, life sciences, healthcare, and advanced manufacturing sectors with diverse services and expertise to assist them with compliance management. Our unique culture fosters growth, development, education, and creativity.This position reports directly to the Financial Controller and is a fully on-site role based in our Northampton, PA office.Responsibilities:General Ledger & ReconciliationsAccount Maintenance: Maintain and update the General Ledger (including account roll-ups); enter day-to-day financial data and journal entries with high accuracy.Reconciliations: Break down, enter, and reconcile corporate credit card accounts, reimbursable expenses, and intercompany accounts.Banking: Perform regular bank statement reconciliations (including EWMI & RRI entities).Prepaid Accounts: Post and reconcile prepaid account activities.Financial Period Close & ReportingMonth-End/Year-End Close: Assist in the monthly, quarterly, and year-end closing processes to ensure deadlines are met.P&L Review: Review divisional Profit and Loss (P&L) statements for accuracy prior to closing.Financial Reporting: Prepare regular monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports; review and analyze reports to establish and track key performance indicators (KPIs).Revenue Recognition: Co-manage percentage-of-completion accounting records and corresponding journal entries.Compliance & CollaborationAudit Support: Assist with external audits by preparing required documentation and providing support to auditors as needed.Cross-Functional Support: Collaborate with other departments to maintain accurate records, resolve discrepancies, and provide accounting support.Team Alignment: Work closely with all members of the accounting team to ensure financial statements are complete, timely, and prepared in accordance with US GAAP.Executive Support: Support the Finance Manager with ad-hoc projects and all other duties as assigned.Basic Requirements:Bachelor's degree in accounting, Finance, or a related field, or 3–5 years of progressive experience in general ledger accounting.Strong understanding of US GAAP and standard accounting procedures.Proficiency in Microsoft Excel (e.g., VLOOKUPs, Pivot Tables) and accounting software.Must be eligible to work in the United States without future visa sponsorship.Must have a reliable form of transportation for onsite workdays.Preferred Requirements:Experience in environmental services, waste management, construction, or manufacturing industries.Experience with percentage-of-completion revenue recognition.Familiarity with multi-entity/intercompany accounting and consolidations.Prior experience utilizing enterprise accounting ERP systems (e.g., QuickBooks, NetSuite, Oracle, Microsoft Dynamics).Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills, with the ability to explain financial data to non-financial stakeholders.Besides Health, Dental and Vision Insurance, we contribute to a 401k, offer a generous tuition reimbursement program, TONS of safety training for some positions with opportunities for external trainings and certifications, Mentorship & Career Succession Planning, Relocation Opportunities, Auto/Home insurance discounts, pet assistance discount plans, discounted movie passes & more!Triumvirate Environmental is committed to a diverse and inclusive workplace.
