Work Environment

The Physical Therapist will work onsite in our state-of-the-art rehabilitation facility, interacting with a multidisciplinary team that includes physical therapists, occupational therapists, speech-language pathologists, and healthcare support personnel. Key Responsibilities

• Evaluate patients to assess physical function, mobility limitations, and the impact of conditions on their daily lives.

• Develop and implement individualized treatment plans based on the evaluations done in consultation with the patients' referring physicians.

• Document patient progress and treatment plans accurately, ensuring compliance with medical standards and organizational policies.

• Provide hands-on therapy techniques, including manual therapy, exercise prescription, and modalities as indicated to improve patients' functional performance.

• Supervise and mentor physical therapy assistants (PTAs) and support personnel, ensuring they adhere to therapeutic practices.

• Communicate effectively with patients regarding their treatment goals and explain the techniques used to facilitate recovery.

• Collaborate with other healthcare professionals, including physicians and nursing staff, to coordinate patient care efforts for optimal outcomes.

• Participate in continuous education opportunities and departmental meetings to stay updated on emerging rehabilitation techniques and practices.

Patient Population / Client Focus

This role primarily focuses on patients recovering from surgeries, injuries, or chronic conditions affecting their mobility and daily activities. The ideal candidate should have the compassion and skills necessary to work with a diverse patient population, which may include individuals of all ages and backgrounds, particularly among those requiring rehabilitation from orthopedic injuries, neurological conditions, or postoperative recovery.

Qualifications

• A Bachelor of Science in Physical Therapy from an accredited institution.

• Current licensure as a Physical Therapist in the state of Virginia.

• Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to articulate concepts clearly to patients and their families.

• Proficiency in using electronic medical record (EMR) systems and standard office software to maintain patient documentation.

Preferred Experience

• A minimum of two years of clinical experience in a physical therapy setting is highly preferred.

• Experience working within a rehabilitation facility with a focus on patient-centered care.

• Familiarity with various therapeutic modalities and techniques.

Compensation and Benefits
