Job Description

Bachelor's or Master's degree in Special Education, active Special Education Teacher license and minimum 1+ years Special Education Teacher experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.

Make a significant impact in the lives of students as a Special Education Teacher in a supportive and dynamic school environment near Kenner, LA. This contract opportunity runs from August 3, 2026, to May 27, 2027, with a consistent Monday through Friday schedule of 35 hours per week. You'll work closely with other passionate educators, fostering student growth and helping deliver on the promise of inclusive education.

Qualifications:

Active Louisiana Department of Education certification with SPED endorsement required
Experience as a Special Education Teacher, comfortable adapting instruction for diverse learning needs
Candidates must not require TA or TAT consideration; current, valid credentials in Louisiana are mandatory
Must successfully pass district-requested drug screening and fingerprint background checks
Available to work full-time, 7 hours each day with an additional 30-minute unpaid lunch break
Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate with a multidisciplinary team

Responsibilities:

Provide specialized instruction and support to students across a range of age groups (caseload and specific schools to be assigned)
Develop and implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) tailored to each student’s unique needs
Collaborate with general education teachers, parents, and support staff to ensure student success
Utilize data-driven strategies to monitor progress and adjust teaching methods effectively
Maintain thorough documentation in accordance with district and state requirements
