Bachelor's or Master's degree in Special Education, active Special Education Teacher license and minimum 1+ years Special Education Teacher experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.

You'll work a consistent Monday-Friday daytime schedule (35 hours per week) supporting unique learners, with the number of schools and caseload details shared during the onboarding process. The contract runs from August 3, 2026, through May 27, 2027, offering a meaningful school-year commitment.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Active Louisiana Department of Education certificate with SPED endorsement (required)
  • Experience as a Special Education Teacher in a school-based setting preferred
  • Immediate eligibility to work in Louisiana (licensure must be current—no provisional or out-of-state certifications accepted)
  • Comfortable completing a district-specific drug screen and fingerprinting as part of credentialing
  • Passion for individualized support, differentiated instruction, and inclusive education principles

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement Individualized Education Plans (IEPs) for students with diverse needs
  • Adapt and differentiate curriculum materials to ensure access and success for all students
  • Collaborate effectively with general education staff, school psychologists, and support providers
  • Foster a positive, supportive classroom environment for learners of all abilities
  • Maintain accurate documentation in accordance with district and state special education requirements
