Job Summary

Strawser Construction Inc., a subsidiary of Barrett Industries Corporation, provides advanced pavement preservation solutions for our customers’ needs.We are currently looking for an Asphalt Plant Operator at our Terry Asphalt Materials Plant in Hamilton, OH. This shift will run from roughly 6:30AM - 2:30PM but can vary. Reporting to the Terminal Supervisor, the Plant Operator is responsible for various duties ensuring maximum safety, production, and productivity, including loading and unloading truck and railcars, working with asphalt and emulsion, and general maintenance.

Main Responsibilities

• General laborer and operator duties associated with asphalt and emulsions manufacturing
• Load and unload trailers
• Perform PMAC production, including troubleshooting of production operations and formula verification.
• Perform basic boiler operations, chemical testing of boilers, and boiler maintenance.
• Operate a forklift as needed
• Unloading railcars
• Maintain terminal cleanliness
• Conduct preventative maintenance on a variety of equipment types
• Daily inventory activities
• Perform other duties as assigned to assist in the terminal operations

Qualifications

• High School Diploma
• Must have a valid driver’s license and good driving record
• Mechanical experience a plus
• Must adhere to all Strawser safety regulations
• Must be able to lift 65 pounds and climb stairs and ladders
• Must be proficient in math, computer and communication skills
• Must be willing to work extended hours when demand dictates
• Must be able to work outdoors for most of the workday
• Must be able to work a flexible schedule during our peak season of April-October, starting time for this role will occasionally be 2AM with a shift differential.
• A CDL is a plus
