Payroll & Benefits Administrator

About the Role The Payroll & Benefits Administrator is responsible for the accurate and timely administration of payroll, employee benefits, and related HR programs. This role manages recurring weekly and biweekly payroll processes while maintaining accurate records, supporting compliance requirements, and providing dependable service to employees and managers. This is a detail-oriented role that requires consistent follow-through, strong organization, careful documentation, and attention to accuracy. The Payroll Administrator works closely with Human Resources and Accounting to ensure payroll and benefits information is complete, accurate, properly documented, and processed on schedule. The role also supports process improvements, system utilization, reporting, and audit readiness. Core Responsibilities Payroll Administration Process weekly and biweekly payroll accurately and on schedule.Conduct pre- and post-payroll audits and resolve discrepancies involving hours, pay rates, deductions, taxes, benefits, reimbursements, and other payroll transactions.Maintain accurate payroll and employee information in the HRIS.Maintain payroll tax registrations and support timely, accurate tax filings and payments.Prepare payroll reports and maintain supporting documentation.Monitor payroll-related regulatory requirements and support compliance.Serve as a primary resource for employee and manager payroll and timekeeping questions.Reconcile payroll-related accounts, liabilities, deductions, and other balances with Accounting.Assist with payroll audits and provide requested documentation. Benefits & HR Administration Administer employee benefits, including enrollments, qualifying life events, terminations, and benefit changes.Maintain accurate benefit elections and employee records in the HRIS.Complete monthly benefit vendor invoice reconciliations and maintain benefit data.Monitor benefit vendor EDI integrations and assist with issue resolution.Maintain accurate and confidential personnel, medical, and payroll records.Respond to employment verifications, unemployment claims, garnishment requests, and other employment-related inquiries.Administer the company's 401(k) plan, including enrollments, terminations, loans, required notices, census reporting, and audit support.Assist with leave administration, including tracking, communications, claims, benefit coordination, and required notices.Assist with workers' compensation audits and insurance renewals.Identify opportunities to improve processes, strengthen controls, and improve system utilization and reporting. Salary: Salary starting at $70,000, with final compensation based on qualifications, experience, and overall fit for the role.
