Position Program Specialist - IDD Location Beaver, Moon Twp, and Sewickley, PA Job Type Full-time Shift 24/7 (on‑call) Description A Program Specialist who works with individuals who have intellectual and developmental disabilities is the primary advocate for each assigned individual and ensures that all medical concerns are addressed. The Program Specialist develops, supervises and coordinates each Individual Support Plan (ISP) for the individuals assigned, completes assessments, identifies strengths, needs, likes, interests and preferences, as well as dislikes, for each individual. The position is salaried and exempt. Responsibilities Secure all necessary services to meet each individual’s ISP requirements. Ensure documentation for Individual Support Plans, quarterly reviews, ISP revisions, and other related processes meets state licensing requirements. Supervise, monitor, evaluate and, when appropriate, recommend changes to the Service Coordinator (SC) on services or outcomes in the ISP. Report changes related to an individual’s needs to the SC and plan team members. Guarantee that all required elements of the ISP are included (protocols for social, emotional, environmental, restrictive procedures, etc.). Provide assessment to the SC or plan lead at least 30 days before the ISP meeting. Review the ISP with the individual and coordinate services to meet state licensing requirements. Document ISP reviews for the SC and plan team members. Inform plan team members of the option to decline the ISP review document as necessary. Monitor house funds and finances related to an individual’s needs. Track individual progress monthly through direct observation and documentation of participation and outcomes. Coordinate DSP training on health and safety needs relevant to each individual. Develop and implement provider services to meet state licensing requirements. Maintain fluency on all assigned Individual’s ISPs. Provide ongoing training to staff on ISP and reviews, therapeutic needs, health and safety, medication, diet orders, and house needs. Exhibit a professional attitude and maintain an excellent working relationship with staff and peers. Schedule and attend medical appointments; monitor follow-up and ensure implementation of medical care. Maintain medication administration certification and practicum observer certification; perform MAR reviews and medication checks. Provide face‑to‑face ISP training to Program Coordinators and DSPs. Act as Certified Investigator on an on‑call basis when necessary. Perform other related duties as requested. Effective verbal and written communication skills. Ability to monitor individual programming and provide hands‑on implementation and staff training. Empathy and ability to maintain effective working relationships with employees, supervisors, service units, families, and co‑representatives. Leadership and organizational skills. Minimum Experience and Training Master’s Degree from an accredited college and one year’s experience working directly with persons with intellectual and developmental disabilities. Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited college and two years’ experience working directly with persons with intellectual and developmental disabilities. Associate’s Degree or 60 credit hours from an accredited college and four years’ experience working directly with persons with intellectual and developmental disabilities, or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Completion of all required clearances and possession of a valid driver’s license.
