Bachelor's or Master's degree in Social Work, active Social Worker license and minimum 1+ years School Social Work experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.

Make a meaningful difference in K-12 students’ lives as a contract school social worker for the 2026 extended and regular school year. This engaging onsite role offers the opportunity to support learners throughout a special education district near Warren, MI. You’ll work summer hours from June 30 to August 6 (up to 25 hours per week) and school-year hours from August 17 through June 11 (up to 35 hours per week). To be considered, you must be available for the entire assignment and able to serve a diverse range of student needs with compassion and expertise.

Qualifications:

• Active Michigan school social worker certificate (310 code) required—ready for submittal.
• Experience supporting K-12 students, especially in special education settings.
• Ability to demonstrate trauma-informed, culturally responsive practice.
• Unwavering professionalism, collaboration, and strong communication skills.
• If you do not possess the 310 school cert, appropriate supervision arrangements must be established prior to interviewing.

Responsibilities:

• Provide direct and indirect school social work services to students in line with IEP goals and district policies.
• Participate in student evaluations, eligibility determinations, and multidisciplinary team meetings.
• Develop and implement strategies to foster positive social-emotional growth in students.
• Collaborate with educators, families, and service providers to create supportive academic environments.
• Maintain clear documentation and comply with state/district guidelines and timelines.
• Serve as a critical resource for crisis intervention, behavioral planning, and family outreach.
