Senior Accountant

Kforce has a client in Florham Park, NJ that is seeking a Senior Accountant.Summary:We are seeking a detail-oriented and motivated Senior Accountant to join a collaborative finance team. This individual will play a key role in maintaining accurate financial records, supporting month-end and year-end close activities, and ensuring compliance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP). The ideal candidate is hands-on, organized, and enjoys working in a fast-paced environment while contributing to process improvements and operational excellence.Key Responsibilities:

• Manage daily accounting operations and maintain the integrity of the general ledger
• Prepare and post journal entries and perform account reconciliations
• Process vendor invoices, payments, and maintain vendor relationships
• Reconcile bank accounts, initiate account transfers, and support cash management activities
• Assist with cash forecasting, budgeting, and financial planning efforts
• Create purchase orders and support purchasing activities
• Review, reconcile, and process employee expense reports
• Prepare annual 1099 reporting and related documentation
• Support quarterly reviews and annual audits by preparing schedules and requested documentation
• Identify opportunities to improve accounting processes and internal controls while enhancing efficiency and accuracy
• Partner with cross-functional teams to support business operations and financial reporting needs
• Perform additional accounting and finance projects as assigned

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field (or equivalent combination of education and experience)
• CPA designation or progress toward certification is required
• Strong understanding of GAAP and general accounting principles
• Experience with general ledger accounting, reconciliations, and financial reporting
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel
• *Experience with ERP systems; QuickBooks experience is a plus
• Strong organizational skills with exceptional attention to detail
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a dynamic environment
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise sound professional judgment
• Industry experience is a plus but not required

The pay range is the lowest to highest compensation we reasonably in good faith believe we would pay at posting for this role. We may ultimately pay more or less than this range. Employee pay is based on factors like relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, location, performance, union contract and business needs. This range may be modified in the future.


We offer comprehensive benefits including medical/dental/vision insurance, HSA, FSA, 401(k), and life, disability & ADD insurance to eligible employees. Salaried personnel receive paid time off. Hourly employees are not eligible for paid time off unless required by law. Hourly employees on a Service Contract Act project are eligible for paid sick leave.
